You hear of Areochargers?? No oil lines necessary.
My buddys dad was telling me about these things. They are a turbo that have to be filled with a special oil to an EXACT amount, and the oil has to be filled regularly. But, when this is done the turbo does NOT need an oil feed or return line.
I guess he knows a couple guys who were running them on their snowmobiles.....one guy even had a twin-turbo setup on his. Problem is the guy didn't fill the oil properly, and didn't change it enough and went thru 2 turbos in one season.
One other really interesting thing is they have a way of basicly varying the A/R........

Aerochargers are old news. If you pick up Corky Bells Maximum Boost book, he tries to sell them in there. He used to supply them with the Miata turbo kits, but finally stopped using the Aerochargers due to reliability issues. I don't know how much they've cleaned them up since then, but a turbo is an extremely high stress unit. Adding any kind of complexity, can really shorten it's lifespan if not done properly.
I don't know. I would rather have clean/fresh/cool oil flowing thru the turbo, then an encased setup like the aeroturbos. How many miles before a turbo oil change? And how much does the "special" oil cost per oil change?
Stick with what's tried and true. And it's ONLY two oil lines man!

I guess these guys have lots of money, and one of them wanted the fastest one on the lake during the winter.....

I think a lot of focus drivers are successfully using them now. If you go to http://www.teamfocaljet.com/cgi-bin/...ubb=forum&f=49 they have a lot of info there.
