Your chassis code is in your VIN right there on the dash and in the door jamb (and lots of other places on your car).

It will be your fourth, fifth and sixth digits.

There are few true EGs in the US. I believe the only ones (from memory) are del Sols and sedans.

 

so its still ok to call it a eg , if i say eh they wont even know what im talking about.

 

just say gen5 haha

i believe any of the cx dx vx are eh2

eh3 is si and may be ex. I'm not exactly sure about these ones

See, I'm the opposite. We have EGs here. So if someone calls it an EG, I'm not sure if you mean a del Sol / sedan or if you're calling it that because of the generation.

I just call them 5Gs.

4G = 88-91
5G = 92-95
6G = 96-00
7G = 01-05
8G = 06+

EH2 = CX, DX, VX hatches
EH3 = Si hatch

But most people around here just call all 92-95 hatches EGs

If you're referring to the jdm coding of your car:

92-95 hatch = eg6
92-95 sedan = eg9 (ferio)
92-97 crx, del sol = eg2

Coupes weren't offered in jdm land.

There were more hatches and sedans in Japan than just the EG6 and EG9. There were more del Sols in Japan than just EG2s. EG2s were also sold in the US.

And coupes were sold in Japan.
