diffrances between obd1 o2 sensor vs obd2 o2 sensor?
hi guys what is the diffrance between an obd1 o2 sensor and a obd2 front o2 sensor? (b16a2 honda 02 sensors here)
im told its just the plugs that are diffrent and the sensors (denso units) are infact the same, what i would like to know is this. can i take an obd2 o2 sensor and wire it in place of my obd1 o2 sensor if i use the obd1 loom?
cheers

Re: (sageuvagony)
hmmm thanks. :D
the sensor i have sat here is a denso 234-4099 (from an obd2 1996/1997 delsol VTEC)
i want to use it on my jdm b16a2 obd1 delsol VTEC . though according to my original part number the obd1's denso unit is 234-4011 (diffrent number for some reason). which , for some retarded reason is $40 bux more!
if anyone can supply any sort of wireing diagram between the obd1 and obd2 vtec o2 looms i would be most gratefull.
i think all the dx and sohc sensors are the same across the entire board from 92 + through obd1 and obd2.

Hey man, iono about the O2 sensors or what matches up or anything, but if that sensor is 40 bux more and has a different part number...I wouldn't go on assuming they're exactly the same.
Just my $0.02 .
Just my $0.02 .

Re: (Syndacate)
ya, thats what i think, but it means shipping my sensor all the way to the states and paying for shipping again (cost me $30 bux to get it here, now i have to spend $30 to send it back, and another $30 to pay for it to arrive back here, making it one hell of a dammed dear sensor lol!)
i would hazard a guess that denso sell the obd1 sensor at a higher cost because the obd2 requires 2 sensors as opposed to just the one. see what gets me is the universal 4 wire unit they make fits BOTH the obd1 vtec and the obd2 vtecs, part number is exactly the same on them, so is the price :?
do the obd1 ecu's read a diffrent set of voltage compared to the obd2 vtec sensors?
i searched my *** off on here and could not find anything about it (which is unusual on here)
cheers

Re: (sageuvagony)
right i CAN confirm now that the denso unit 234-4099 DOES work on obd1 vtec delsol's!
just had it installed, no wire cutting, plugged straight up, works like a dream. best thing is there only $56 bux on e-bay! almost half the price the 234-4011 units sell for!
