Get rid of all the codes.

Any CEL will prevent the vtec from operating.

if you are throwing a vss code it will not activate vtec, get it fixed and see what happens

x2, if your speedo is working then your vss is fine and it is your speed amplifier in your speedo gauge which means you have to replace the actual speedometer to get your vtec working again. that happened to my '90 Si last year.

are you serious???? what's a speedometer??? did you bump your head or something?? it's the little thing in your cluster that tells you how fast your, um.......SPEED is!! it would be cheaper to buy a used cluster than it would be to buy a new speedo unit at the dealer. until then I think you need some rest or something cause if you don't know what your speedometer is then you need to stop driving all together
