I'm unable to search for obd swap info because the search doesn't allow such a short word like "OBD" as a search keyword.
I just need to know what I will need to swap from my d16y8 (VTEC) to a d16z6 (VTEC) motor...
Thanks and my car is a 97 civic ex coupe 5spd.

That will solve the distributor wiring part of it, and this will solve the alternator part of it, if you use the OBD1 alternator. (highly suggested, the regulator is better than the OBD2 ones)
OBD2 wiring harness on your car needs to be spliced and an OBD1 round greed plug must be used.
Your wires on the engine harness are as follows:
WHT/GRN: ALT Control Signal (C)
WHT/RED: ALT Field Circuit Control (FR)
BLK/YEL: IGN Wire (IG)
WHT/BLU: Charing System Light (L)
The colors on the OBD1 plug are as follows:
WHY/YEL: ALT Control Signal (C)
BLU: ALT Field Circuit Control (FR)
BLK/YEL: IGN Wire (IG)
WHT/BLU: Charging System Light (L)
Splice them according to the color code, and your all set.
