Camshaft seal -trying to get out so I can replace it
I've got the camshaft pulley off, now trying to get the seal out. Not have much luck. Do I loosen the two 10mm bolts directly above the seal to replace that seal?
thanks much
thanks much
got it...used a tool from Harbor Frieght...a pick tool..four of them. Slowly pryed out with out loosening the bolts on top. Used a 30 mm socket to push back in after applying oil around the outer edge of the seal
30mm bolt for a camshaft seal ???WTF
uhhh what motor was this on ?
So you just beat a seal inplace ??
Btw - Its going to leak !!

the camshaft seal is about the size of 30mm socket or so hence why he probably suggested using that socket...... and if you dont install a press-fit seal by pressing it in to the bore, how do you propose it goes in? by telepathy?

there is an easier way of doing this so you don't have to loosen the cap bolts, works for the crank seal too.
I just did this on my Civic when I did the timing belt job on it. I don't have the write-up done yet but when it is this will be included this time. I know I did it on a Civic but it'll work the same for the Accord engines.
Just take a pick, I used a scratch awl, poked it through the face of the seal and then pried it out with the scratch awl, worked great. I then used an axle nut (can't think of the size now) to install the new seal.

really... and do you have a better way or do you just want to try and bash people? I've noticed a few of your posts like this.
If you have a better way of doing this then by all means please share, otherwise don't come into someones thread to not be helpful.
