Default question about diamond mats

Hello, if this has been asked before (I looked around and searched it but didnt see anything) then I apologize, but I'm thinking about getting diamond plate mats but I want black, not chrome. Does anyone know if they make them that way because I have never seen any other color.

Can you paint that kind of material? I was thinking of just buying them and slapping a couple coats of black spray enamel and then maybe clearcoat to protect it? You guys know a lot more about this than me so any help is much appreciated! Thanks

you need to etch the aluminum before you paint it...
i know people who use battery acid but i think they sell etching spray so it then can be painted like any other metal. prime and paint.
