Default went to track.. noticed huge engine mount problem. help!

so i went to the tracks today and noticed the engine comes up and hits the hood. the last run my friend drove my car, engine came up so hard it pushed the hood up and took paint off. then we left the hood open and moved the car up a little on low idle and we can see the engine jumpin up and down alot! wat exactly do i need to solve this? motor mounts? mount bushings? anythin else that helps? and eliminates the problem?

Check your reat transmission bracket. If it came loose it can cause the motor to rock back and forth and itmay hit your hood. Is it going back and forth or left to right?

You're mounts are dead or the bolts holding the brackets are dead/stripped.

An easy fix is to get some polyurethane sealant at home depot, and fill your mounts with that.

Shouldn't cost you $10 with a caulking gun.

I forget what it's called, but one of the poly sealants you can buy is for roofing, I know that much.

3M makes a window caulk that is recommended a lot, I've been planning on doing that myself but i'm a procrastinator. If you don't wanna use the caulk I would just buy inserts, much cheaper.

dude, look around to see if mounts are busted. there are 5 mounts that hold your motor.

The only time I ran into a busted mount, was the torque mount, bottom passenger side. Wat a bid improvement that was when i Fixed, that part. goodluck

My rear mount is dead too... It's ******* annoying to shift smoothly, and if I let off gas and hit gas again, that engine bounces back and forth about 4 times.. u can here the "wawawawawa" taping and holding the gas.. Been too lazy take it out and fill the mount since I hear it's a bitch to take out..

I've never had one busted but I get a lot of different views on how much the torque mounts help. But I guess they would help more so in a drag scenario.

Is there a diy for the 3M caulk mount insert?

Fix that mount problem asap. My buddy had the same problem and his driver side mount ended up ripping off the block. After that happened his motor was an 1/2 inch of the ground. He had to re-thread the holes for the mount.

i found out the mounts are bad. the passanger side top mount and back mount need replacement.. do i just replace the bushings inside the mount? or do i actually need to buy the whole mount and bushings?

yo, thats watsup, im going to check that out. i did noticed that my trailing arm bushing is kinda wearing off.

quite some work to get fix blah and figuring which route fix that hmmmm replace the trailing or replace the bushing and goes to alignment blah. i'd rather filled it in. thanks!

for the other dude. replace the whole mount, you dont need the bracket and **** just the mount, it comes just as a mount. the rear is pretty cheap. have fun
