97 honda civic tranny problem
Ok here is the story: I got this 97 civic for real cheap (don't have much money) it was crashed in the front. I straighten it out (Work at a body shop). The engine(d16y7) works fine it starts with a push of a button(remote start, it starts with the key as well) but for some reason I tried to drive the car and in drive it gives me a loud grinding sound. Tranny shifts good, reverse is good but drive seems to be the problem. I got a used tranny from a friend from a 95 civic b15y6. At first it looked the same but when I took a closer look the tranny is missing 2 solonoid packs and it has a throttle valve cable on it. Will this tranny work correctly with out burning the clutch? (He cut the cables for the gear shift and throttle/tv) both transmissions are automatic.
all transmissions have clutches. I was reading an article about the difference between the cable throttle for the transmissions and the solenoids paks. I just wanted to know if it would work without having the cable connected because I still have a throttle body that only have enough space for the gas pedal.
