Ive tried to search to find out when vtec is engaged on a 2001 Acura EL(01 Civic EX) and cant find it. I know the SOHC engine vtec sound is not as noticeble as the DOHC engines. Its not gonna sound like my old prelude. Sorry for the noob question. I just cant find it.
Thanks

Yes I'm sure. It's in the technical service bulletin Honda released about the car. And, I do have an EX.

I tried to search before asking, but I couldnt find it. I was having the same debate with my friends. I feel that vtec kicks in around 5000 rpm. Other ppl were saying 3000 rpm. So I figured I should find out b/c theres money on it! Someone have a definite answer? My bad yall.

As I posted earlier, the kick-in point for VTEC is around 2700 RPM's. That's not some random statement, that is a FACT. It was in Honda's Technical Service Bulletin, relating to the car.
