Default STEAM CLEANING ENGINE BAY (searched but still need advice and info)

I'm interested in cleaning my engine bay and Im considering steam cleaning and I would like some help.

Based on my search I found this link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2015892 with info about a product that will help me clean the engine my self along with a brush and water hose. My concern with this is that I wont be able to clean some hard to reach places or small areas. That is why Im considering steam cleaning.

This link: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=421638 has a few people giving positive feed back from steam cleaning.

Can anyone give me some more detailed information or advice on steam cleaning please? Anyone with personal experience? Would you recommend it? Any concerns with steam cleaning?

Finally any places in Southern California that does profesional steam cleaning?
Thanks

Why not some simple green and a garden hose?

I havent tried it before however my concern is that I wont be able to clean some hard to reach places or perhaps some areas that are hard to get to.

Will spraying simple green and just rinsing it off with a hose work?

I just recently purchased the vehicle and the engine bay wasnt cleaned at all. If steam cleaning gives better results even if a pay a little more im willing to sacrifice the money at this point to just have it cleaned profesionally this first time and after that I can just maintain it clean. But giving that I know very little of steam cleaning I dont want to do it if it will damage anything in the engine bay.

Any risks with steam cleaning? Anyone?

i can do it for you for a price. but if you always go to truck wash to have it steam clean. make sure your car is running (idle is ok) and live it that way till its completely dry. also, make sure you have your stock intake or cold air intake where the filter is located near your wheel. if you have a cold air your simple put a thick towel on top of it and make sure your in idle. hot water/steam will take most of the grime out but if you want your hood looking like new. you need to get down to it and scrub it. if your still not willing to pay 40 bucks at truck wash. give me a pm.

new honda toy +hot water + stream jet =

Does it leave it spotless? I got tons of simple green and thought about trying it but never got around to it.

simple green will only do wonders if you scrub it.
brake cleaner is great but it will eat paint and finishes.
spend a little money and take it to truck wash. your baby deserves it a little to what you maybe put her through.
in other words. DONT BE CHEAP.

I managed to get my engine bay spotless with some simple green and a pressure washer.

Of course I didn't use the pressure washer in areas that could have damaged the engine, turned out alright. My engine bay looks alot different now though

simple green

before

after

i soak the engine down while it is cold w/ simple green....full strength, not diluted

after it has sat for a few (5-10)mins. i start the car and rinse it off.....

i usually let the car run for 20 mins or so, to dry everything out......
