Hello, I am a n00b and am in need of major help.

I have a 93 Honda Civic EX 1.6 vtec. The engine runs great with 119k on the odometer. I can hear a knocking noise while driving down the road and it's most noticeable at 2k-2.5k rpm, especially if I hold the rpm in that range. If I rev the engine with that little thing by the throttle body I can hear the knock coming from the valve cover on the side of the distributor. I don't know if it's coming from the distributor or from something under the valve cover. I don't think it's a valve clearance issue because wouldn't that have more of a ticking noise? I looked on advanceautoparts.com and they list a distributor as well as a bushing. Has anyone had this probem that i'm having? I'd really like to get the car back on the road as soon as possible. I am mechanically inclined and I could fix what ever is wrong, but i'm not sure what exactly what is wrong. I'm going to pull the valve cover tonight and see if there is anything obvious. How is the distributor bushing replaced anyways? ANY help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

my friend gsr has this same problem and i change his dizzy out for mines which is working fien is its still knocking also well adjusted the valves 3 maybe 4 timesa all ready im stuck
