Is it a light tapping? Like duc duc duc duc, Coming from the distributor? Does it only happen when the engine is relatively cold? If so, join the club. If not, check your belts.

It sounds like it is coming from under the valve cover. And it is a light tapping.

The distributor is just left of the valve cover with the plug wires coming out of it. And it tapes light. Thats it.

you have the dreaded valve tap it sounds like too me. I am not 100% sure but that is what my civic was doing before I took it in to get the valves realigned. Be ready for some money if you dont do it yourself and be ready for a long job if you do do it yourself

How much do valve adjustments run? Or are they easy enough to do myself?

if it sounds like a diesel motor, get your valves adjusted... problem solved (F22s sound like that when their valves get out of whack)... if there clicking in relation to your rpm, check your distributer, or even simple like something interfering with a rotating part...

Honda charges $50-60, you can do it your self if you get feeler gauges for $5 and the haynes manual for $25.

Like everyone says, except that one distributor theorist, it sounds like the valves, its not a big deal to adjust your valves and not very expensive to have done if you dont want to try, I think Honda recommends it every 15k if I remember right.

While it may not be hard to do, you might be better off just taking it in to get done. If you have never done it before, it can be a little much. Of course that depends on your mechanical ability.

That sounds like the same problem I saw on a brand new Civic when I brought my Accord in for an oil change. A brand new Civic, didn't even have its plates yet, came up with a clicking noise, kinda like the one you guys described. I don't know what the problem was though, sorry.
