Default Coming Out Of 2nd

Ok, I'll be slowing down to make a left turn, probably only goin 20km/h or less.. Its in a second gear and it pops right out. That mean my tranny is pretty much dead ? haha

Yep, thats never really a good thing. My friends car used to have a tranny so bad you wouldnt need to engage the clutch to change gears. lol

if that happened on the turn could be associated with worn motor and tranny mounts ... pop the hood and rev the engine few times ... look if it jerks, look for broken or cracked rubber on the mounts ... From what you said it happened first time ... might not be a tragedy yet ...

If it was only once then I wouldnt sweat it. I would do what quapouh reccomends such as checking for bad mounts and what not. If the car is old and hasnt had a tranny flush in a while id reccomend doing that too.

ISB failure, push the clutch in and hold it for 5 secs at idle, and then let it out all the way, and note any pitch that the transmission produces to confirm that.

30-40 bucks in parts will be needed, a new ISB, new ISB seal is all that is needed, but I would replace all the seals, and inspect all the other bearings as well. Gonna need some brake cleaner to clean all that metal out of the case.

You heard it, from Dr. Transmission himself, lol.
Any pics or DIY writeups to go by for those who havent taken their tranny apart before?

Here is one on another forum, but its a D-series gearbox, but its basically the same as a B-series, I'll be doing a writeup on a B-series and D-series as soon as I can find my camera....
