Cant you just find a bolt to put on and tighten it down, does it really need to be welded? Maybe a locknut or washer?.

Thing is, is i don't know what it's supposed to look like.

Is it a bolt that you slide through the Linkage and then screw into the tranny?

OR

Does the threaded shaft come off of the tranny, then you slide the linkage onto it and then tighten down with a nut?

Either way, something is boken off, so nothing there now. Just a flat surface.

Yeah without before pictures for reference can't be sure. Maybe post up in your respective model thread ex: 92-00 civic, or whatever you have, someone might be able to get you pictures.

there's a flat washer that goes on and then the piece (pictured), and then the washer for the bolt. It looks like the cylinderical piece that the pictured piece slides on is what has snapped off. Without that piece, nothing will be able to hold that brace on. I would assume that you would need that brace. dont know how else you would be able to attach it. Hopefully, maybe someone knows, otherwise its either used tranny, fabricate or go without it.

I'm heading out to the garage in a little bit. I'll get a better picture and post it.

Sorry. I totally missed this one. But, from my non speaking previous statement, you are 100% correct on this part.

Ok, well i'm confused then. I have some of both---------

You last two guys say it is a bolt that goes through the linkage and screws into the tranny. Correct?
If so, thank you, and i'll give it a try.

yes the bolt goes through the linkage into the transmission....just be sure to use a large enough washer or else the linkage will fall right off after a few shifts...trust me ive made that mistake before

I wouldn't drill, I'm in the process of replacing a case, they used a bolt that was 5mm too long where yours broke.

The bolt punched thru the thin casing, causing a massive leak.

Turk, you're a boner. He DEFINITELY broke off part of the housing, not just the bolt, so we will have to "engineer" something. I have a really simple idea for it that will have to be executed when we get the motor/trans out of the car. It involves a spacer to fit inside the linkage rod bushing, a Superman cape, a die grinder, a big clamp, blue body paint, a tap, and.......I've said too much.
