Default building my b18c1

alright i've just turbo'd my car and i want to push more psi but dunno where i should start. i was thinking about getting lower compression pistons, rods, cams, and valve springs but from what i hear i only need to get lower compression pistons for now and i dont have to worrie to much about other stuff but that it would help. What else can i get to re-enforce my engine so i wont blow it up?
as of now im only running 6psi on a stock engine.

Do it the right way the first time.

First off you dont need lower compression pistons. You need forged pistons. The lower your compression the higher the boost your going to need to make power.

If you keep the stock compression which is at 10/1 then your going to need less boost to make power. Just get some forged 10/1 compression pistons, eagle forged connecting rods, rod bearings, apr head studs and let it rip.

When you do the headgasket replace it with an oem one.

Your not going to need anything done on the head execpt for the apr head studs.

I hope that helps.

that does help a lot thanks for your help im confused still about what size pistons are the stock ones and stuff like that and if any eagle forged connecting rods will fit a b18 that say that they're made for b18 w/o any modifications.

stock pistons are 81mm so you are going to want 81.5mm pistons, freshly bore and hone the block. there are both rods and pistons specifically designed for the gsr.

rods - part# CRS5430A3D

all the piston manufactures have websites as well with full catalogs of what they offer.

Get a good tune and you will be able to do more than 10psi safely.

First of all what turbo are you running because 10 or 6 psi doesn't mean **** unless we know what turbo your talking about. Second I would suggest you get some HP goals not PSI goals. Third you dont need to lower compression it will just make your out of boost performance suck *** get a GOOD tune and it wont matter what your compression is in a reasonable sense.

why do you need to build the engine for 10 psi in what seems a very low hp target goal that you have?

u just need to tune the engine correctly and it will take more than 10 psi safely...
