what motor was it chipped for before you got it ? is your motor stock? A p30 is the ecu that ran the 92-95 jdm b16a and also the usdm 94-95 b16a3 del sol from the factory.

yes it was chipped when I got it was use on a b20 with a b16 head in a hatch. my b16 has a head job,jdm header, cams, cam gears. the ecu has no rev limiter, I use it on my friends soch d16y8 motor and it made power past 7000 rpm all the way to 8500 rpm.

not a stock one they are single cam ecu's that only rev to about 7ish. no doubt it has always been the favorite ecu to use but it would need to get chipped with a b16 base map before he could use it.

you said you already tried the p30 on your friends d16 and reved it to 8500 did it hit the rev limiter at 8500? cuz if so then its a stock p30. i say just use it anyway

Rechip the P30 with a local tuner and you will have better results
