its not plug and play because your old y7 was obd2 and your new z6 is obd1

you need the z6 harness on it, but im not sure what modifications you will need to make it work.

extend some wires near your intake manifold if need be.

use your y7 dizzy

run your vtec soleniod, and vtec oil preassure switch to ECU and wammo

by using the y7 harness u guys meant the engine harness right..take out the z6 engine harness and put the y7 harness on..then just wire the vtec soleniod and vtec oil pressure to the ecu then i'm set..correct.

i thought he would have to convert to obd1 because d16z6 doesnt have a CPS on the crank pulley

when u put a z6 in a 96 and up civic body youll need from a z6

Z6. Distributor, VTEC solenoid, crank pulley, cam gear, timing belt, alternator belt, and timing belt covers and p28 ecu

All of the sensors from the OBD2 harness hook right up to the OBD1 sensors. The TDC sensor is on the crank on a Y8, and in the distributor on a Z6. You need to repin the dist wires to match them correctly to the harness, or you can buy a conversion harness from Rywire.com. There is also no knock sensor on the Z6, so that will be left sitting as well. I slapped my Y8 mani onto the Z6 so I had no issues with the sensors on the IM. OBD2A - OBD1 harness and a chipped P28 spec ECU.

You don't want to use a Y8 crank pulley on the Z6. You will have nightmares.

92-00 trannies/clutch/flywheel are all interchangable.

you ll keep your y7 dizzy... do not use the z6 as it will not hook up...

and since you are converting to OBD 1 you wont need knock or crank sensor...

What is this guy doing? just keep yoru z6 stock im not sure why he is listing all those parts (cam, crank, belt...) whatever...

dont listen to him he didnt take his time reading the thread and saw that your car was running already...

such a simple matter turned so complicated...

on the obd1 z6 the crank sensor is in the dizzy isnt it, so if your using a y7 harness on the z6, the crank sensor plug in will be left hanging right???? because on the z6 the crank sensor is in the dizzy......where as the d16y motors have a crank sensor in the oil pan or near the crank area....
