z6 into 93 dx/lx. which engine harness?
Im putting a z6 into a 93 4 door this weekend and i have the z6 engine harness to go with it. My question is will the harness plug up correctly to the cabin harness from the car? I cant remember if the car is an lx or a dx if it makes a difference. Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Re: (capbyrd)
I'd just keep the engine harness from the Dx since either way you'll have to run wires for the VTEC pressure switch and VTEc solenoid.
The 93 DX/LX was not prewired from the chassis harness plugs into the ECU, so even if you run the Z6 engine harness you'd have to wire up VTEC from the plugs on the strut tower areas, through the firewall, and into the appropriate ECU pins.
I'd save that Z6 harness for a Jap swap that has no harness.

Re: (J-Spec EG)
A D16Z6 and D15B7 (DX/LX) engine harness are identical except for the lack of a few VTEC wires on the DX/LX harness.
The actual chassis harness, the one that runs from the shock towers through the firewall, on the 93-95 DX/LX still won't have the two VTEC wires, so bascially there's no advantage to running the Z6 engine harness because either way you'll have to run teo VTEC wires. The only difference is that with the Z6 engine harness the wires will be shorter, but the effort will still be the same.
If the car were a 1992 model, regardless of wether it were a CX, DX, LX, Si, EX, etc, then the Z6 engine harness would make the swap a 100% plug and play affair because all 1992 Civics were prewired for VTEC from the shock tower plugs and through the firewall and into the ECU pins.
It has nothing to do with OBD type.

all i want to know is if the plugs match and you answered that. im using the z6 harness cause its still attached to the z6 im putting in. im finishing a swap for a friend cause the guy he paid to do it first is now in jail and cut the stock harness as well as broke the axles to get the old motor out. so reusing the old harness isnt an option.
the main thing was makin sure that the car would run with the z6 harness even without having vtec wired up just yet.
thanks again fellas
