Default Just swapped in my B20 VTEC in my ek hatch but idles at 3k....need some HELP!!!

Like the title says i just dropped in my b20 in my 99 hatchback. I am currently running JE 12:5 CR pistons, eagle rods, supertech valvetrain and skunk 2 pro 2 cams and cam gears. I used the em1 engine harness so every sensor was plug and play. I also jumped the ecu to a obd1 p72. My question is when i first turned on the car, it idles at 3k. i have one vacuum line that is not plugged in on the manifold. It is where th purge valve goes, but since my motor is obd 1 i see no point of plugging it in. Well if i start to cover that plug on the manifold the idle starts decreasing, but if i close it all the way the motor turns off....any ideas?? I tried to be a specific as i could but ill try to post pictures of my problem asap thx

Base idle needs to be set, start by closing off that vacuum leak, then start the car with the CEL pin jumpered and set the base timing to 16 BTDC and the idle to 750 off the screw. That should take care of it for you man.

You will need a timing gun (light).

How to set base timing.

Once that is done, then adjust the idle to 750 or so RPM's.

It's easy to do man, nothing to it.
