My wife bought this hood for me for xmas and I just got around to using it recently. Is there a trick to turning it "on"? I press the on button, start the arc, it auto darkens, but goes right back to shade 3. I hold down the on button, it turns dark, I weld and nothing happens, it stays dark. I replaced the batteries, same thing happens.
I ordered the 3/10 lense, and figured that I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas, I called the 1800 number for Speedglas, but in the meantime, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

 

My speedglas was flashing me one day and I couldnt figure out what waswrong replaced the batteries and its been fine ever since mines is about 2 years old now

 

Well I called the customer service number and told them the specifics. Its in the mail, warranty claim.
