Default I Was Wronged by a Reputable Business!!!!!!!!

Here is the story, Anyone who knows me knows it takes alot for me to complain about something but this really didnt sit with me the right way. I am gonna be fair and not name the business until Friday March 3rd to see if there will be any resolution.

Anyways, i ordered an ef9 hood from this company about 1 month ago and during the phone conversation the guy on the phone told me that they had 1 in stock but it had dings and scratches i clearly asked the guy about three times can it be repaired he said yes it can be repaired dings an scratches no problen so we agreed on a price 300 shipped i gave him my card # and that was that.

Well 2 and a half weeks later i recieve my package the box was beautifully wrapped i dont think it could have be boxed up any nicer. i took the hood to the bodyshop that is working on my car and the body guy was like i cant do anything with this hood, and I am like what do you mean he said this hood is bent i am like bent , he showed me where the hood was bowed right down the middle definately unrepairable. so i called the company and the guy said " you insisted on us selling you the hood" i said why would i give you $300 for something i cant use. then he said" i was skectchy about selling you the hood in the first place". why as a businessman would you let something your sketchy about selling leave your facility so now i am out of $300 no hood no resolution. its not even about the money i just want a hood i can use.

thanks for looking,
Ron

what really gets me that if i was to name to the company so many people would somehow find it my fault the hood was bent because its a shop they go to or they know people that work there all i am gonna say right now is that they are in cali and they are very popular. i know im small fries at this mcdonalds but $300 is no small change.

if its defective, and unrepairable your money should be refunded, and in the worst case, you ship the hood back to them.

And if you name the business, yeah, you will prob get flames, but being wronged is being wronged, and if the company is as large as you say it is, 300 should be chump change to them (assuming its the company I'm thinking of). Best of luck to you!

Yeah, if you got jakce, soesnt matter WHO it is. I think people who get on here and flame because you call out a reputable shop are stupid. But this is also why I dont buy body parts...especially JDm body parts online. I wanted to get a silvia front end for my 240sx, but some of th epictures you see online make the body parts look shitty. Good luck onm a resolution OP

That sucks Ron!! PM me who it was. A friend here had the same thing here with the same parts for his CRX. He got the whole EF conversion and actually sent it back.

The JDM ITR front clip that I built my Integra from came with shitty parts too. It looked like the fenders were kicked in and they were all different colors, so it was some bullshit that they threw together. This place was JDM, Inc. expletive them!

Keep all your communication documented between you and the company and if they don't offer you a refund, bring your credit card company into the mix. You have a legitimate claim in my opinion and you should 'out' this company for their deceptive practices. And fraud committed while doing business between different states brings federal laws into play.

Good luck to you and be glad you payed with a credit card. Any chance the shipper bent the hood, or was the packaging sufficient to prevent damage? Or did the packaging show any signs of damage?

Sorry for your misfortune, but the moral of the story is always request pictures or documentation before buying used parts (if not, prearrange a return/refund in advance). I've read countless stories of the same things happening on this site. What one vendor may claim is in 'good condition' may be in 'poor unusable condition' in your eyes.

Anyways, I hope things work out between you and the vendor.

Sam92teg mentioned this, but your answer is right in your own story......You paid with a Credit Card. Credit Card companies have certain rules and regulations to protect their clients' rights against fraud or in this case goods and services that were not as advertised. You DO have recourse, but the first thing I would do is to contact your credit card company and find out exactly what that recourse is (every credit card company can be slightly different). I worked at a bank and I saw this all the time. It's called a chargeback. You do however have to show proof on your end (emails, paper trail, written statement from your body guy, etc.) that YOU have been making an attempt to find an amicable solution for both parties. This shows proof to your credit card company that you aren't just trying to get out of paying for something that you are satisfied with. Anyway, bottom line is that you do have a leg to stand on, and I would suggest you fight for your rights.
