Default 93EX CLutch problem(stock) please read!!! Clutch not engaging enough and slipping

My car has an intermittent problem where the clutch doesnt fully engage and causes a slipping condition. I thought it may be the slave cylinder so I replaced and the problem came back again. THis happened to the car about 2 years ago and went away. Its now back and more frequent. WHen I push the clutch in it feels different than normal. Almost like there is a huge air pocket in the lines or something. The car shifts and comes out of gear fine but has no holding power. I dont think its the actual clutch though because the problem is intermittent.

Could it be the clutch master cylinder? Im gonna replace that as its cheap before pulling the trans. THe car is 100 precent stock....

Maybe the master cylinder pushrod is adjusted too tight?

I have now replaced both the slave and master cylinder and the problem is still there... more frequent now that in past.

I have a hard time beleiving its the disk itself because when the problem is not happening the clutch grabs hard, just like it should normally. But when the problem starts, the pedal begins to feel more stiff than usual and the car wont hold any power without slipping... Im probably gonna have to pull the tranny soon.
It seems to happen more when the car is hot btw.

Lots of miles im sure. Ive put 60k-70k on the car and its the same clutch as when I bought the car. It now has 198k on it. The crazy part is how the problem is intermittent. It must be something inside though... Im gonna pull the tranny soon.

How much pedal free-play does it have? When it's acting up and working right.

Being intermittent and doing it when hot still leads me to the hydraulic system. Lets be sure before you pull the trans.

There is no free play when its acting up. The car drove fine on the way to work this morning.

When it does act up the pedal feels very stiff and feels that way from the time you depress the pedal until when it hits the floor. You really dont feel the clutch engage and disengage as usual...

hmmm. We have replaced both slave and master cylinders thus far.

Sounds to me like it is just worn out.I would say if it has 198k on it, you got your money's worth.

The master piston probably isn't moving back far enough to let the pressure out. Sometimes you can back off the clutch switch to get enough extra movement. Other times the release rod on the master cylinder will need to be shortened.
