clutch problem?
im not in the best of shape right now, 104 degree temp. but my buddy called my a few seconds ago, he said that he was driving his gsr, and that the clutch went straight to the floor, with no pressure, and to get it into gear, he had to jam it into gear, i don't know **** about that, but could it be a faulty clutch line, i think his car is a 99 gsr

Doesnt sound like a master cylinder failure really, but rather like the slave cylinder fell off or you got a cut in the clutch line......basically just find the leak. Also, if it is the master cylinder, you'll find the fluid on the inside of the car at the back side of the clutch pedal where the MC connects.

Good ways to find a leak in the system:
Place a piece of cradboard under the trans. This is where the S/C is located.
Check where the clutch pedal connects, along the firewall behind the dash. You will see obvious signs of leakage, a small puddle of fluid, etc.

check the fluid first. Same thing happened with my buddy's 94 civic. I popped the hood, added fluid while he was pumping the clutch pedal, and voila he had his pressure back. But make sure there's no leaks
thanks guys, he just called me and said that his mechanic told him he needed a new clutch, he doesn't know **** about cars, and i think they are trying to pull a fast one on him, ill go check out his car later on today....

The symptoms you describe are that of the hydraulic system losing pressure, not a blown clutch spring. He is gettin torn a new one.

haha, i didn't get to him in time, they already had a tow truck come and pick up his car, and bring it to the shop, i tried talking to his dad, who also doesn't know **** about cars, that it wasn't the clutch, it was most likely a leaking clutch line, he just thinks im bullshitting him, and why he would take a highschoolers word over his mechanics.....so.......my buddy got screwed
