Default Repair or Replace IAC

My check engine light came on and the car wouldn't idle afterwards. Cleared the code and it idled, but very low. Light came back on, so I checked it and it was code 14, IAC valve. I know that when the idle jumps cleaning it can help, but what about when there is no idle?

I'd inspect the IACV and clean it if you can...also inpect the electrical connectors and coolant hoses. If you can't fix it, just get a new one.

Advance quoted me $250. Anyway, I pulled it off, and on the manifold side, the screen was caked with carbon. I put some carb cleaner on a rag and wiped it off, and it seems to be working fine now
