Won't go into reverse??? What?
When I start my 2000 GS-R from a cold engine, sometimes it takes about 15 - 20 seconds before I can put it into reverse.
Is it just because the engine is revving higher because it's cold? Or is there a pressure issue somewhere?
I've had a few manuals and never had that problem.
Also, when I first start it, it will idle at about 1500-1900 for a few minutes before it warms up, then drops to an idle of about 850. Normal?
Thanks!

almost every honda has that reverse problem. try sticking it in first and than back in reverse. or just wait. my car has a similar problem and i just put it in neutral, release the clutch, press it back down, and than back in reverse and it goes right in.
Thats pretty normal for reverse... sometimes i have to do the same thing by putting it in first then try reverse again. As for your idle, id say its fine. As long as its idling back down to bout 800 or so when its warmed up then i wouldnt worry bout it.
Ok cool, I was just really worried my tranny was all F'ed up or something, but overall I got a great deal on the car. I'm pretty pumped.

Yeah it's got a pretty good Clifford alarm and I'm gonna hook up GPS tracking and LoJack for it. I can get LoJack at cost through my dad, and Clifford GPS is only like $100 a year. So I'll get it back if any five-fingered ******* tries to take it.
