Default y7 header same length at y8 header?

I am asking this because I currently have a catback exhaust for a y7. I am thinking of buying a y8 header (no cat on it unlike the y7). Will that bolt on directly or is it too long/short. I know it will be catless, also isnt there like a oxygen sensor that I need to extend? Where can I get the extension?

I am pretty sure all D series exhaust headers are the same. There are diffrent aftermarket options and diffrent bend patterns, but I am almost positive that any D series header can fit on a D16 y7 or y8 etc.

i know any d series header can bolt on the y7, but i'm asking if those headers will bolt directly with my y7 cat-back exhaust.

What car do you have? All that matters is that the exhaust follows the same chassie line, because your not changing the cat back, as long as the header is the same length as the olther one... it will fit.

He wants to know if his y8 header will bolt up directly to his stock y7 exhaust piping. And to answer your question, I believe that if you just run a y8 header without a y8 cat, it will bolt up directly to the rest of your exhaust, but then you have no place to put the secondary o2 sensor unless you weld in a bung somewhere, but you won't pass emissions w/out that cat and you're fuxing up our already fuxed up planet. As far as the o2 sensor extension, this is what I found so far: http://rywire.com/store/4wire-...f6d3e I know there's cheaper out there, just gotta search.

No, on the dx the cat is part of the header.

The ex and dx are different lengths.

Just to confirm.
