you probably need to lower the oil pressure or lower the crankcase pressure. even if you keep the oil from coming out of the turbine housing it's not supposed to be there in the first place.

Warm it up and wiggle the intake part of the turbo, see if it has play.

It looks like you have 2 leaks. Look at the radiator

This is pretty normal. The turbine side has a piston ring-like seal, and because the shaft spins so fast, it's normal for a tiny bit of oil leakage.

Most of the time the oil doesn't even drip because the turbo is hot and not enough oil comes out for people to notice.

Some times it stops on its own, like above, I am guessing this is because there's just enough coking around that seal to stop it from leaking any more.

You can tighten the bolts if you want, but that's not going to affect the seal, that will just tighten the housing to the CHRA. Just don't worry about it.

I have the same problem with a brand new turbonetics turbo that I just installed in my civic , even using a oil pressure restrictor and venting the crankcase to atmosphere , well let me know if you already fixed this problem and how did you do it .

i dont believe any turbo manufactuerer recomends you putting an oil restrictor on your new turbos, i think they will deny warrantee if u do also.

only old turbos and ball bearing turbos should be fitted with a restrictor..

so it leaking at first is normal, and also it could leak if you dont tighten the clocking bolts? is this all true. because the first day i drove mine after turbo, it started smoking pretty bad on the interstate and when i looked at the turbo, it was leaking from the same place but alot worse, but it only leaked when the engine was running. im gonna take off the turbo and tighten those bolts down soon anyway but i just thought id get some feedback first
