oil on the turbo???
The turbo is a t3/t4 it was pruchased remanufactured. It spools great and runs great but there is oil on the vacuum fitting on the compressor and now after like 3 months there is oil on the perimeter of the center housing, where the bolts to clock the turbo are. It is a little bit of oil, but noticiable. WHat could this be, are the seals gone or something, how can I check and is it easy to rebuild?. THe turbo is oil and water cooled, and there is no restrictor on the oil line. THanks

i had oil coming from the middle of turbo and it had a lot of shaft play and seals were out
i thought mine was spooling and running good too

Re: oil on the turbo??? (slodel)
yeah the bolts are tight, but I will check again. i spoke to Ken Peak and he said that it was most likely the motor. I ran a compression check and it pulled 210 for cylinders 4-3-2 but cylinder 1 was at 175psi. He said that this was the culprit and that the motor should be rebuilt. I am just a little weary since the motor pulls super strong, and pulls good vacuum 19 inches consistently. No smoke from the exhaust either. So if there is anyone else with advice or experience please chime in. THere is no PCV Evac system (yet) so I initially thought this coule be the cause but Ken said it is the ringland for the number 1 cylinder.

Re: (Zakar)
NO restrictor, no aftermarket pcv. I will convince him to get an aftermarket PCV system ASAP as I think that will atleast alleviate strain on the motor.

Re: (Zakar)
don't know he has no oil pressureguage. But I will check, basically my question is could this really be a motor problem. It does not leak, smoke, hesitate, and vacuum is good. Like I said before the compression numbers are 210 on cylinders 2,3,4 and cylinder 1 is at 175psi.
