How would you go about buying a motor with no papers?
I have this K20A3 that came off of my friends base model DC5. But I haven't been able to get papers just yet, it's not stolen or anything. I was reading threads talking about how the DMV assigned VIN's? Or was that just for JDM motors only?
Just came upon this because people were talking about how people bought B20's and the cops took them and crushed there cars because they couldn't provide the legal documents.

Then wait till you can, not worth the risk having your car crushed

If your friend owned the car and crashed the car then take a copy of his registration saying its a junked car, make a bill of sale with the VIN numbers and youll be set. Honda put the VINs on USDM motors in 96 and kept going.
