Default multi port swap in a dual point car help please

ok so i did a multi port single cam swap and i got a wiring harness made and my ecu keeps throwin the idle air control valve and the crank position code.... ive changed the idle air control and reset the ecu and my car still wont go pass 3200 rpms it just goes up to 3200 and stops it sounds like i have a studder box i cant figure it out so if u can help me le me kno

The CPS code is what is causing it to stay in safe mode. The IACV code will just cause a bad idle. You do need to give a little more info:

What kind of car is this?
What motor & OBD?
What ECU?

Regardless, I'll guess that since you had a harness made instead of modifying the stock one , the problem lies in the wiring.

What do you mean by you got a wiring harness made(what did the person do to it)? Where did you get it from?

well the car is a 1989 honda civic obd0 1990 motor d16 and we modified the stock harness i jus dont understand the way its runnin cause those r the only 2 codes that it is throwin

my car was just doin that yesterday....i have a similliar set up (90 dx sedan + 91 ls swap) one of the wires i sodered, the tape fell off and was touching the mani...once i taped the soder..it fixed it right up.

still got a code 10 that wont leave my life...

its a stock dual point harness modified to a multi port harness

Did you switch the wires on the TPS in the correct order???

why dont you take it back to the person who did it for you... they might actually know what they changed. double check everything he changed and make sure its correct
other then that, follow the haynes toubleshooting guide.. you do have a haynes dont you?


you might also wana check to see if the engine was throwing the CPS code before you installed it..
