But really, the VX does have vtec (economy vtec). And you can use the VX ecu, but it won't really be worth it. It's for a 92hp economy 1.5L engine, so obviously the fuel/timing maps are going to be off for the Z6. But it will make the car run and drivable. My friend is using his stock VX ecu with his b18c1 swap until he gets the right ecu, and it still works fairly decent for what it is.

yeah man im running a vx (d15z1) ecu on a d16z6. it runs good only bad part is it gets about 20-25 mpg and the CEL comes on every once in a while. the crossover for VTEC is at 2500 with the vx ecu so my z6 gets really loud and torqey at about 3 grand. I ran no exhaust yesterday cuz my friend said it would be cool. OMFG i almost blew my eardrum when i opened it up cuz vtec hits such a low rpm, I had to shift at like 1700 to keep it semi loud and to not get the cops called....
actually its not a good idea at all to run the vx ecu. the d15z1 (vx motor) uses 190cc injectors, while the d16z6 uses 240cc injectors.
like said, it will crank and run, but you will have the slowest z6 alive if you do this. and your a/f ratio wont be close to correct with the injector differance between the 2 motors.
im sure you noobs knew that already though.

that ***** funny man. i think alot of these guys in this vx ecu post, are new to hondas lol.
VX's ARE STOCK SINGLE CAM VTEC!!
I think alot of you guys think your car is vx,but your car must have been swapped or its a dx or cx. those two models are NOT VTEC!

the VX ECU (P07) will look for an EGR valve that the Z6 does not have. it will set the CEL for it and run like crap. It also requires a 5-wire wideband O2 sensor.
like schardbody said... and I'll emphasize on it... DO NOT USE THE P07 ON A Z6 swap for more than start up and idle checks.
Yes the injector sizes are different and it will run rich at idle. But beware of the P07's lean burn mode that the VX uses to get such good gas mileage. It will create extremely high exhaust temps (runs really lean when cruising) and will damage things on an engine not designed for it.
UNLESS you happen to have a Cali-spec P07, then it's different. 4-wire O2 and no lean burn mode, but setup for 190 injectors.
