Default VX questions

I'm picking up a '92 VX HB this weekend. I have been told by the owner that the distributor is going bad. Do I "have to have" a VTEC distributor; ie VX or SI, or will a non-VTEC dist. work; ie CX/DX?

Second question. What ECU comes in the VX? Hybrid board has P28 listed for SI/EX and PO3 for CX/DX, but no VX listing.

Welcome to the world of the mystery car. Not many people have them, and the are technically in the same category as an Si. They are VTEC cars, but the have all the right lightweight components.. I have a VX distributor I can seel cheap. I added a B16 to my car, and have VX parts.. IM me..

you will need a VTEC dist, they fit VX and SI/EX motors.

VX ECU hasn't been hacked to my knowledge.

the code for the VX ECU is P07 and you will need a VTEC dist, other ones will not work with it. good luck.
