what tools do i need?
i am in the process of changing my own head gasket on a b16 eg. what tools do i need?
i am particularly concerned about the removal/installation of the head bolts/studs. is it easy to remove the stock ones?

basically its all bolts and nuts you will need metric sockets and wrenches for. YOU WILL NEED A TORQUE WRENCH! May as well adjust all the valves while your in there so get a vavle clearance guage and do that if you want. not a tough job just a bit tedious. **** luck.
all right. so its easy but tedious. well, i need to know which torque wrench type is better.
this?
or this:
the first type is very cheap. can get one locally for less than $10. the other around $25. the first one kinda gives me the feeling that after some use it will lose accuracy.

second one is better, make sure you always "0" them when not in use as they use a spring.
Also if you have 10 12 14 17 19 you can pretty much take any honda apart

also a pry bar or strong back will help lift the head off the block along with a slotted screwdriver for the valve adjustment. Have a method for removing the crank pulley bolt also, without air tools, you'll likely be fighting a losing battle. A set of pliers for misc hose clamps will also be needed. I'm sure there are a couple i'm forgetting...anyone else plz chime in.

I'm just thinking along the lines of doing a timing belt...it's time for sleep. OK, if doing a timing belt....worry about the crank pulley. My bad
Oh, might want to do an oil change after having all those oil passages open and easily able to catch debris. Just a thought.
I don't think on this job, there are any 12 pt bolts. I say 6 pt especially for someone that isn't the most familiar with weilding tools for less likelyhood of rounding bolts/nuts. 6pt ftw!!
