distrubitor burned!!

Default distrubitor burned!!

i'm in a process of buying this car which is a 96 ex. the owner show me the distributor with all of the wires burned out inside. now wat could this done to the harness or the car? thank you all

I had the same problem last summer. The dealership said they had alot of problems with the z6 dizzys going bad. I went through 4 dizzys in 2 months

the owner said he tried another dizzy on but the car didn't turn on and he said it's not even crank or making any clicking sound. so what could that be? thank you every1

If a spark jumps the gap at the wrong time, it will arc to the nearest conductor, usually blowing a hole in the cap, it basically goes wherever the hell it wants. Happened to me with a B16A dizzy after the shaft bearing began to fail.

Only suspect fuse would be the IGN fuse, check that just in case....

As for the no crank, make sure your S terminal connection is still plugged in solid, mine does that about every 5 months or so when the terminals begin to rust a bit, my car is really picky about it, and wont even power up. If you suspect the starter test it. Take a hot wire from the battery and touch it to the S terminal briefly, make sure your car is out of gear because this will crank the engine as well.
