distrubitor burned!!
i'm in a process of buying this car which is a 96 ex. the owner show me the distributor with all of the wires burned out inside. now wat could this done to the harness or the car? thank you all
If a spark jumps the gap at the wrong time, it will arc to the nearest conductor, usually blowing a hole in the cap, it basically goes wherever the hell it wants. Happened to me with a B16A dizzy after the shaft bearing began to fail.
Only suspect fuse would be the IGN fuse, check that just in case....
As for the no crank, make sure your S terminal connection is still plugged in solid, mine does that about every 5 months or so when the terminals begin to rust a bit, my car is really picky about it, and wont even power up. If you suspect the starter test it. Take a hot wire from the battery and touch it to the S terminal briefly, make sure your car is out of gear because this will crank the engine as well.
