Blue smoke = burning oil, White smoke = burning coolant.

White = coolant
Blueish= oil
black = rich or soot of carbon buildup in exhaust pipes (from running rich at one point)

dont forget the sweet smell also means coolant. 90% of the time the white smoke will leave a sweet scent.

depends on WHY its running rich in the first place. if its due to o2 sensor, you should replace the o2. if its ignition problem where its not igniting your fuel right, fix your ignition problem. if its larger injectors, get it tuned. etc etc etc etc

I have the same issue with my car. The car was re-built but I did not know there was extensive work to be done.

P&P head and stock block that was rebuilt. The car burns about a quart every 900 miles or so.. There is noticeable black carbon/oil deposits shooting out of the exhaust and stuck on the back of my car.

Would that be because oil is passing through the engine due to egg shaped cylinder walls?

Sorry to jack the thread, having some issues as well....

BUMP!!!
