Default No downpipe...lots of smoke normal?

I finally got everything working - no leaks - no problems, so far. (*I do not have a downpipe made yet) I haven't taken it for a drive yet because I'm running stock injectors. When I started it up at idle it was fine, no smoke, then when I rev'd it to about 2500 a few times, I was busy watching my tach and when I looked up, quite a bit of white smoke was emitting from my bay. I'm assuming this came from my turbo manifold because I have no downpipe and its raw exhaust? When I killed the car to get out and take a look, it was rising up through my entire engine bay so I couldn't tell its point of origin. Is it normal for a setup without a downpipe to puff white smoke? Could it be because I'm running too lean or an oil problem?

Is the turbo new? Might just be spitting out some residue from assembly.

I'm pretty sure it's just residue burning off. Give it about 10-15 mins of light driving and it "SHOULD" be gone. Double check all gaskets and oil line fittings.

OK well it still smokes like a ************ off and on. Sometimes it stops and doesn't do it at all until I stop somewhere and leave the car off, then when I come back and start it, it will smoke for like 5 mins then stop. No oil is in my intake pipe, and all the smoke is coming out of the downpipe outlet (I dont have my downpipe on yet). I think maybe there is some internal leakage inside the turbo housing? Is this anything I can look at myself without ruining the turbo?

Also, I think maybe my return line is too small. It is the same size as my inlet line which I think is 1/2 inch in diameter. Is that a bad size? Should I make the oil pan's inlet nipple bigger also? It's smaller than 1/2 inch. Typing that out, it sounds retarded, so I guess I will go get that fixed.

from my understanding, the oil drain should be a lot bigger than the oil feed. One of the main reasons is that the oil feed is pressurized where as the oil drain works off of gravity. If u don't have a sufficient diameter for the oil to drain, then the potential for the oil to get backed up into the turbo and leak past the seals becomes more likely.
