Default SUBWOOFER, in my car.

So I, or my friend, is thinking about getting a 10 inch JL W1 Sub in a Slot Ported box. Will the slot ported box effect the recoil is my one and only question.

Recoil? What?

Are you asking if that sub will work in a slot ported box?

What's the box tuned for? What's the box's internal volume?

I think it's called recoil. Like, how fast it can play bass. Ex. Techno compared to rap. How fast it can recooperate and produce the next beat if the techno bass is really fast (Usually why 10" is better for techno then 12"). Cause I know port boxes make the sub sound louder, I just don't know if it will make it not run as fast.

Get a super heavy box. That will minimize the recoil.

I would personally go ported if you have the room.

A 10 or 12 will work if put in the right enclosure. And have the proper power applied to the sub.

I assume you are talking about one of the pre-fab JL W1 enclosures. I wouldnt reccomend one unless you have a hatch back. they cant handle enough power for a sealed trunk. they are only about 150-200wrms. we tried to use one in a sealed trunk about 2 weeks ago with a 300wrms amp and it was barely noticeable in the car.
