Default Sub Box Question

Right now i have 2 infinity kappa 12" subs.... i used to have them installed in a sealed box, but the box didn't have a middle wall separating the chambers.... i heard this was bad for the subs, so i got a bandbass box off my cousin for free and i put my subs in there.... i was going to put the subs back in the sealed box, but is it really bad since there isn't a divider.... and if so how hard would it be to make one

it's not that big of a deal to not have a divider....it will be WAY better then some prefab bandpass box

so, having a divider is preferable for a few reasons, but it's not a requirement.

i have a home made bandpass box for my jbl 8" i love the sound, but its big and heavy. i dont think the divider would matter.

why dont you stick with the bandpass box?

the only reason i like my bandpass is because my subs are protected from all the junk in my trunk... that is the reason i bought it.... but the thing i don't like, it if i turn my amp up more than halfway, it is all distorted

tells me its probably way off. and I would remove the subs from the bandpass box before they turn into LUMPS. 94
