Noob question...Do i need an aftermarket cd player to hook up an amp/system?

As has been discussed literally hundreds of times, No.

You'll need a line-out converter if your amp doesn't have speaker-level inputs.

Enev if it does have speaker level imputs i would still a line out converter.

So this means i can use my OEM head unit? The amp has speaker level inputs..

Why?, to introduce even more signal noise if you use a cheap one. And to spend more cash. OP you can go both ways with it. Add a loc or your the speaker wire input on the amp

Wait. I'm sorry.

You could always take the deck to your local electronics repair shop and have them solder in a set of RCA's off the preamp...

Better?
