Default ***Trying to identify SOHC head Vtec or Non Vtec D15b***

Ok

I have a d15b block and some unknown head. Trying to find out what it is. It has a port for a vtec solenoid but it has been blocked off. I tried searching to find how to identify the head.

The only real number I found was pm38 unless I am looking in the wrong spot.

The plug wires are on the intake side of the valve cover which is leading me to believe its a non vtec head, BUT like I said it has a port for a vtec solenoid and its a d15b block which is the vtec bottom end.

Anyone????

there is also a d15b non vtec but if there is a port for the solenoid then it's most likely vtec...

you can most likely identify by the plug wires. the vtec wires are diffrent than the non vtec ones as in the rubber that goes around the rings on the valve cover are smaller in diameter than the non vtec ones.

so you wanna know if it originally had vtec? if it has the block off plate id say it did. or you can pull off the valve cover and check the # of lobes.

I notice the spark plugs are on the exhaust side but in my searching it said they sometimes have it on the intake side as well (obd II???) and I had the valve cover off to do valve adjustments and replace the gasket. I don't recall what it looked like under there. **** for brains i suppose ha.

B7's did have a mechanical fuel pump, but alas it is the same style head.
