Default Grant GT wheel on a civic lx w/ cruise? Confused?

I've searched and searched but am unable to find any info on how to hook up the horn button on a Grant GT wheel I found in a local junkyard to my 90 sedan lx. I see there are two connectors coming from behind the GT button but when you go to look at the cars wiring, theres only a single plug that connects to the steering wheel and its for cruise i think. Most references that I see on the internet are for the non cruise models since the horn is workable through a contact plate when the horn button is pressed but the pictures differ from my steering setup. I don't have a contact plate or anything and it's just a simple three wire connector. So how exactly am I suppose to hook my horn button up. I love the wheel and I was confident that I could figure this out, but right now I'm stumped. Help please!

the cruise controls are just on that separate little switch. maybe you could get creative mounting the switch on your new steering wheel? i didn't want to mess up my momo or mount the buttons on the column, so i ditched the whole cruise system.

as for the horn, i've given up. it's seems to be so simple too.....

three pin connector? Air bag? Does the old wheel have an airbag?

I haven't done one with a three pin connector.

OH, Brain started to work! Your cruise buttons are on the old wheel right?
Un fortunately you need to wire the cruise seperate, on a seperate switch.

One of those pins are the horn button just extend a wire from those pins to groung and you will find the horn wire. then just connect that wire to the horn button.(The connector in the middle of the horn button) The steering wheel acts like the ground to complete the circut.

^ The stock horn grounds thru that copper colored metal ring around the splined shaft. There's another piece (that I lost the pic of) that has little 'feelers' that keep the horn grounded even when you turn the wheel.

BUT

That piece with the 'feelers' cannot be fitted with an aftermarket hub & wheel.

At least that's what it looks like to me.....any ideas or corrections on that idea?

It's funny because I just bought some parts off a guy last night and we were laughing because neither of our horns work and we both said f*ck it LOL

See, I don't have that metal ring around the splined shaft. It's weird but it when you plug the cruise plug up and then connect the wheel to the column, the horn will than work but either if you unplug it or take it off the column, it won't work. I'll see if I can take pics but no guarantee. Thanks for you help so far!

The horn works when you connect the wheel to the column because the column is a constant ground. It won't work when you unplug it or take it off the colum cause you have no ground!! The honda horns run off a negative gound. Its a very easy system and a horn problem can be fixed easily. I can help you guys out but i need pics to be able to understand and see whats the problem.

Okay, that makes since because I don't have a contact ring like the one in the pic. So just thinking about it now, If I run a wire to one of the bolts on the hub and than another wire to one of the three wires in the plug that plugs up to the steering wheel, it's bound to work. I'm going to try this tomorrow. If I still can't get it too work, I'll take pics.

Well things just got worse, I lost the horn button. I don't know where I placed it but it's somewhere near. Oh well, when I find it, I'll see what I was saying above will work. Thanks for the patience on this problem!
