my friend bought a nissan sentra with a SR20DET red top in it, and ended up trying to change the exhaust manifold gasket, only to find his charge pipes were full of oil.. at that time he cleaned the oil out and tried to reassemble it all with his new exhaust gasket, and now it smokes horribly when he runs it..

he's not mechanically inclined what so ever, and offered to sell it to me thinking the head gasket is blown.. he wants 700 for the entire GTiR motor without tranny..

I believe the turbo is blown, causing the oil to shoot into the charge pipes. there's no oil inside the cylinders and it only has a tiny amount of smoke at full boost/high RPM before he took it apart. It was running really strong before, is it worth 700?

 

so ur going to neglect to tell ur friend that its just a blown turbo and profit of his un awarness?

it's a friend of a friend.. i told him it was a blown turbo, his mom has money to buy him a new swap and that's what he wants.

The real question you should ask - what's it worth to you? If you can't sell it for $700 or dont have a use for it, thats just $700 worth of lap-dances, fishing rods, etc, that you won't have while it sits.

 

I hear those things are pull up premium before race wars.

what about those spoon engines.!


it is what its all worth to you, or how much you can resell it for. i think those things are only like 2k new. is it worth paying 700 on a gamble, that if you are wrong now u paid 2700 for an sr20??

 

The FWD motors are not worth NEARLY as much as the RWD motors and yes, there are other differences besides the tranny. I would not spend 700 on it but thats me.
