Default How to remove paint off taillights?

i picked up a set of 91 taillights for 10 bucks but the thing is whoever had them before spray painted them and then tried to take off the paint. my question is what can i use to remove it to make it look somewhat good?

i think paint thinner will dull the finish, but you should be able to polish it back up with some polishing compound

And then get some plastic polish or headlight cover polish and shine them up

just buff it with a polishing pad and some mild cut compound, don't let it heat up though.
