Default 1200Watt Amp question

I have a single 1200Watt amp connected and powering my two 12in. subwoofers. The subs can handle 1300watts max each. Anyways my question is are each of the subwoofers recieving 1200watts of power or no?

P.S. the RMS on the subs are 600watts each w/e that is.. sorry im a noob at this stuff.

k, well the way I see it, you have two 1300W subs, so for the two of em u have 2600Wmax. The amp pushes 1200Wmax. So the way I see it, your only getting about half the power your subs are able to take. I cant remember the calculation for RMS right now, its been a while for me, but for a rough estimate, your subs are 600 rms and 1200 max, meaning ur amp should be somewhere about 600rms or so I would guess.

rms is the true power your subs can handle and amp puts out. it means root mean square. if each sub is 600w rms, then you more then likely need a larger amp. is it a sony 1200w cause i get that all the time " yo i got that 1200w sony" even though its rms is 500x1 at 4 ohms. if it is the 2 channel you can only run one of these subs safely

LOL a secret?? Its nothing big it came with the car when I bought it. Sony Xplods amp n subs. (1) 1200Watt amp and (2)12" subs both 600rms power. I heard a lot of people saying "oh thats a piece of s*&$" and stuff but honestly after seeing other aftermarket systems mine acutally kicks in harder bass wise.

see now that wasn't so hard was it???
they are not TOTAL junk but there is definitely better product to be had that does not mislead you into thinking you have more juice than you actually have.

that sony xplod amp you have is not gonna put out 1200 watts unless it's ALS
ALS=As Lightning Strikes and comes down to Earth and hits the heatsink of your amp.

you might actually get 1200 watts outa that Sony amp IF and only IFyour cars' electrical system is putting out 14.4V+ constantly AND running your subs at around 1KHz or higher which would essentially negate the entire point of having subs altoghter because they shouldn't be playing any frequencies even close to that...unless you really hate those subs and are trying to fry them.
