Default question on sub/amp combo

got a jl audio w3v2d2 in one single 10 inch enclosure. currently i have a bazooka 300/1 amp and i want to get a better amp...something that can push 300 amps at 4 ohms. i currently am at 200 watts...sub is wired in 4 ohms.

i have a friend selling sony xploid XM-1252GTR 2 channel amp...but its 340 at 4 ohms...so it would power the sub a little better. would it be a good choice to upgrade to the xplode amp or just keep the one i have? or try to find a mono block amp? this is just for a DD and want to get more of the sub...but not looking for competetion level bass...

Default Re: question on sub/amp combo (supracrx)

Upgrading to a Sony Xplod amp is an "oxymoron" find a proper 1x300W into 4 ohm mono block sub amp.

To answer your question, yes the Sony amp would power the sub better, it's just that Sony Xplod amps are not very good amps. 94
