I got a 97 delsol S non vtec. The tranny went in it and its said that the stock tranny isnt really any good over 100k miles and a civic one will be better. What are my options for a replacement tranny that will bolt right in with little or no mods wheather it be a civic one or not that will be reliable. Thanks for looking

 

Well if you have a del Sol S then you have a DX tranny..Any 92-95 Civic Dx tranny is a exact match. If your looking for a little better tranny (shorter gear ratios) look for a Civic EX tranny. All D series trannys will work BTW.

 

another stupid question........is the 97 delsol an obd2? If so will the obd1 D series tranny work? How about the 96-00 civic?

 

97 should be obd2. yeah that tranny will work, either obd1 or obd2. it dosn't matter which one. the only thing that matters is whether a tranny is hydraulic or a cable activated. in your case your dealing with hydraulic so your fine.

 

Yessir your del Sol is an OBD-II (96+)..Any D series Civic Tranny will work 92-00
