my friend just bought a 97 del sol with a B18C1 in it and it has the p72 ecu and i want to know what would cause it to redline at 6500 Rpm please someone help i think it might be VTEC but if so i need a digram then because the wires are not hooked up

wait...vtec isnt wired?
Im sure there are vtec cel's then also...

Wire vtec, clear the codes, check it....come back later

not having vtec hooked up wouldn't cause this. could be in open in the tps, could be the ecu check for codes, see what u have.

since theres no vtec wired, the ecu sees it as an error and cuts out

I don't know, I've seen plenty of GSR's with no VTEC or IAB's that work fine to the redline - just not as strong. I don't think no VTEC will kick it into limp mode.

What CEL's is it throwing?

Its in limp mode. Wire your vtec dummy.
