steering wheel shaking
my steering wheel shakes once in a while around 65-70...i dont know if its the road or my tires...i just had my tires mounted and balanced a couple of weeks ago...what else can cause a steering wheel to shake?
have your wheels rebalanced, cause whomever balanced your wheels the first time may have messed up. Also, have your rims themselves checked to see if they're bent

would the shop be able to check my rims if they are bent?

I'd say it could be the suspension as well, how many miles do you have with them?
If the car's been in an accident, it could be that the wheel is slightly bent.
It can also be in the rim itself, is the rim still balanced? They usually have a little piece of iron/lead in the inner side of the rim.
If it's a repaired rim it's possible that it's not perfectly round or balanced anymore.
All these things are invisible at to the human eye or not noticeable at lower speeds, but become noticeable at higher speeds.

Wheel bearings and warped rotors can also cause this, especially if you tap your brakes at all or your brakes are hanging up at all. Or uneven tire pressures, bad alignment, out of round rims or unbalanced wheels. Goodluck
Also, does your steering wheel rock at all when the car is sitting still? Like if you grip the top and pull does it have any play? If so, the bolt holding your steering wheel could be loose, and it will shake much much worse when you get up to speed. Happened to me and my steering wheel fell off in my lap at 70MPH. I guess i like to drum out a little too much while driving... anyways my steering wheel shook like crazy up until this disaster of a situation. But now i'm sure to pull off the airbag to re-torque the steering wheel any time i feel a little play in it.

My friend's got same problem before and found out wheel bearing. Warped rotors only noticeable when braking like my lude.
