Default b16 intake ...engine light

my engine light goes on when i engine break. my bro says it might b my intake, i got an ebay short ram intake on my b16. theres a hole on the tube where there might go a sensor or sumthing, we just put a plug on it cuz my engine doesnt have anything to plug in there. my bro says to put a stock b16 intake and it might fix the check engine light. should i change the intake or just look for vacuum leaks or sumthing? thanks guys, as always ur a great help

That hole it for a hose that goes onto an inlet on your valve cover, it's the breather tube.

Connect it. You should see a big unused metal tube sticking out about 1" from the back of your valve cover, that's where the hose goes.

the cold air intake has nothing to do with your cel you can run without an intake and not throw any codes, the second hole in the pipe is for 96-00 civics that have a sensor. what year is your car?
